Marie Nancy Séraphin

Marie Nancy Séraphin, MPH, PhD, is an Assistant Professor of Epidemiology with affiliation in the Emerging Pathogens Institute (EPI). Her background spans field-based program evaluation in resource-limited settings and infectious disease epidemiology. Dr. Séraphin’s research integrates pathogen genomics with real-world clinical and public health data to quantify infectious disease transmission and to evaluate how care systems perform. Within the CDC-sponsored Tuberculosis Epidemiologic Studies Consortium (TBESC-II), she led components of multi-site EMR harmonization, defined and operationalized TB prevention care cascade states, and coordinated scientific activities across jurisdictions. Her K01 award (K01AI153544, NIAID) extended this trajectory by developing analytic methods that integrate heterogeneous data streams for transmission inference. Across this program, she has published on TB epidemiology, transmission dynamics, diagnostic evaluation under imperfect measurement, and care cascade performance in real-world populations.
