Dr. Naziheh Assarzadegan is a board-certified anatomic and clinical pathologist (AP/CP) with subspecialty expertise in gastrointestinal and liver pathology. She completed her GI/Liver pathology fellowship at Johns Hopkins Hospital, followed by faculty service at the University of Michigan, where she further developed expertise in complex transplant and neoplastic pathology. Dr. Assarzadegan later joined the University of Florida, where she serves as a GI and hepatobiliary pathologist and contributes extensively to multidisciplinary care, including liver transplant pathology, pediatric GI pathology, and high-volume diagnostic service. She maintains an active research portfolio focused on colorectal and pancreatic cancer prognostic markers, colitis patterns, and molecular alterations in GI neoplasia, with numerous publications in high-impact journals. In addition to her clinical and scholarly work, Dr. Assarzadegan is deeply committed to medical education, providing daily teaching to residents and fellows, leading CME courses, and contributing to national pathology education through her editorial work with PathologyOutlines.
