BIO
Dr. Enitome Bafor is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Infectious Diseases and Immunology at the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine and an NIH R00-funded investigator. Her research investigates how T cells, particularly double-negative T cells (cDNTs), regulate immune tolerance and fertility within the ovary and uterus. By integrating molecular, cellular, and in vivo approaches, her lab examines how immune adaptation in reproductive tissues shapes autoimmunity and reproductive success, with the goal of leveraging these mechanisms for therapeutic innovation in infertility and ovarian cancer. Dr. Bafor completed the K99 phase of her NIH Pathway to Independence Award at the National Cancer Institute, where she studied T-cell regulation in autoimmune ovarian failure.
