RESEARCH INTERESTS
My research focuses on leveraging data science approaches to address the burden of HIV and substance use. I specialize in the use of real-world data, including electronic health records (EHRs) data, surveillance data, and administrative claims, to support HIV prevention and care efforts. Some of the outcomes of interest include new HIV diagnosis, care engagement, viral suppression, interaction with substance use and mental health, co-infection, and chronic comorbidities. My work integrates rigorous epidemiological study designs with advanced analytical methods, such as artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning predictive modeling, advanced statistical methods, and causal modeling. Additionally, I am also interested in exploring the roles of social and behavioral determinants of health (e.g., HIV stigma and exposome) in shaping health outcomes and informing interventions.
