RESEARCH INTERESTS
Her research interests focus on innovation, collaboration, and the intersection of technology and academia. Over the past decade, Val's work has centered around developing and implementing innovative tools and systems to enhance interdisciplinary communication and collaboration.
Some specific areas of interest include:
- Developing and implementing innovative tools and systems to support interdisciplinary research and collaboration
- Improving access to faculty publications and research information
- Enhancing communication and collaboration between departments, colleges, and libraries
- Exploring the impact of research on society, as seen in her work on oral histories and preservation efforts
Notably, Val was involved in the development and implementation of VIVO @UF, a Semantic Web application aimed at improving access to faculty publications and strengthening communication channels between departments, colleges, and the library.
