BIO

Lara Zwilling is a licensed mental health counselor and a certified forensic mental health evaluator who graduated in 2004 from the UF College of Public Health and Health Professions with a Master of Health Science degree in Rehabilitation Counseling. She spent the last 17 years with Santa Fe College as a counseling center director in student affairs and a Title IX coordinator in legal affairs. Lara is active in reducing stigma among people with mental health conditions and meeting the needs of first-generation college students. She is an expert in training professionals in conflict resolution, de-escalation, suicide prevention and recognizing and responding to individuals experiencing a mental health crisis. She has taught courses at Santa Fe College and here at the University of Florida. Lara currently teaches and works directly with undergraduate students to prepare them for their academic and occupational journey in direct patient care.
