Jorge Valdés Kroff is a psycholinguist specializing in bilingual sentence processing and comprehension. He is the director of the Bilingual Sentence Processing Lab at UF, which uses corpus, eye-tracking, and time-based behavioral measures to investigate the social, linguistic, and cognitive factors that influence successful integration of incoming language. One particular focus is on understanding the psycholinguistics of bilinguals speech or text, which often involves switches between languages--a phenomenon known as bilingual code-switching. His research has appeared in academic journals such as Bilingualism: Language and Cognition, Journal of Experimental Psychology: Learning, Memory, and Cognition, Journal of Memory and Language, and Psychology of Learning and Motivation. His research has been funded by the US National Science Foundation.
